LeJ militant arrested

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department arrested a member of banned outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (LeJ) in Gujranwala, says a CTD spokesman.

A militant, later identified as Walayat, hurled a hand grenade at them near Chowk Pul Ferozewala Bypass in Gujranwala. The officials remained safe and after a brief chase, they arrested him.

The officials seized two more hand grenades from him. The accused had been challaned in sectarian killings, including the murder of magistrate Fida Husain Shah and Advocate Ejaz Rasoolnagri.
