BIRMINGHAM: England fast-bowler James Anderson was banned from bowling during Pakistan's first innings on day three of the ongoing third Test at Edgbaston.

Anderson, who was last time stopped from bowling for encroaching on the pitch in January earlier this year, had received two official warnings from on-field umpires on day two.

The final warning came after he had delivered the first ball of the 124th over of Pakistan's innings when his heel clipped the red zone of the wicket.

Acting promptly, on-field umpire Joel Wilson stopped Anderson from bowling for the rest of the innings.

The 34-year-old picked up two wickets of Mohammad Hafeez and Misbah-ul-Haq before he was stopped from bowling.

Right-arm pacer Steven Finn was called in by English Test skipper Alastair Cook to complete Anderson's over.

Transgression into the red zone by fast-bowlers have been an issue since the start of this series.

Pakistan's Rahat Ali and Wahab Riaz received a few warnings during the series, however, they were never stopped from bowling.
