SHEIKHUPURA: Traffic remained suspended for about five hours on Lahore-Jaranwala Road near Begum Kot after a family blocked road to protest the abduction of an 18-year-old boy on Saturday.

Awais, an employee at a bread shop, was on his way to his workplace from his house when four unidentified people bundled him into a van and fled.

After the incident, the family members with local residents gathered on the road and chanted slogans against police. They burnt tyres in the middle of road and blocked it for traffic.

Some of them vandalised the vehicles for breaking the blockage and injured four passengers of a bus.

The Factory Area police arrived at the scene and assured the protesters of a swift recovery.
