LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan says he has no security threat from anyone but from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif because he (PM) cannot stop him from seeking answers to Panama Leaks.

Mr Khan was responding to a question about the PML-N administration’s claims about security threats related to him, while talking to media persons here on Saturday.

He said Nawaz Sharif knew that he could not persuade him, even if he would manage the whole of the opposition in the country. Saying no one should try to frighten him, he promised that he would lead Lahore’s mass public meeting.

Hinting at the PTI’s next plan of action, Mr Khan said his party would now give a time-frame to the prime minister to respond to the proofs given against him and his family in the Panama Leaks. He said the PTI would not sit silent on Nawaz Sharif’s statement that all defaulters should be held accountable.

Party leaders to meet Aitzaz tomorrow

Answering a question about the PTI’s apprehensions on the Terms of Reference (ToRs) of the inquiry commission, Mr Khan refrained from announcing party’s point of view saying he could not announce because his party was trying to bring all opposition parties on the same page.

He said the PTI team comprising Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen, Hamid Khan, Asad Umar, Atif Khan and Dr Arif Alvi would be meeting Aitzaz Ahsan on Monday (tomorrow) evening to develop a consensus at all opposition parties’ level.

The PTI chief endorsed PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s demand of prime minister’s resignation.

“The prime minister’s actions are vividly explaining that the allegations leveled in the Panama Leaks are true,” he added. He said the PTI would also approach NAB on the misuse of public money for giving advertisements in print and electronic media.
