KOHAT: Thousands of fake computerised national identity cards (CNICs), degrees, official stamps and tampered bank cheques were confiscated in a raid on a house in Shpalkiwal area of Darra Adam Khel on Monday.

Assistant Political Agent Ali Asghar told Dawn by telephone that a large number of fake arms and driving licences, degrees with stamps of vice chancellors and certificates had been found during the raid. The stamps include those of deputy commissioners, political agents, assistant political agents and educational staff.

The business had been going on for 15 years and many people had got government jobs through these fake documents, suspect Arshad reportedly admitted. Arshad surrendered to authorities who used the Collective Responsibility Clause 21 of the Frontier Crimes Regulations.
