GWADAR: A driver died and four other personnel of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) were seriously injured in an armed attack on their vehicle in Turbat area of Kech district on Tuesday.

Official sources said that armed militants opened fire on the FWO vehicle that was carrying water for the under-construction Turbat-Hoshab National Highway.

As a result, five personnel of FWO got injured who were immediately shifted to the hospital where driver of the vehicle Nabi Bukhsh succumbed to his injuries. He belonged to Karachi.

Four other injured were admitted to Turbat hospital.

Security sources have launched a search operation in the area after the firing incident and took some suspects into custody for interrogation.

Meanwhile, unknown men axed to death a man in the port city of Gwadar. The cause of killing could not be ascertained.

The assailants escaped from the scene after the incident.

A body of unknown person was found at the coast near Jeewany which was shifted to the Jeewany hospital.
