Brides sit exam

OKARA: Two sisters took a matriculation supplementary paper on Wednesday in their red bridal dress just hours before their nikah ceremony in Shafqat block.

The marriage of Asma and Iqra was scheduled for Dec 23 months ago. When their datasheet was released, they learned that their paper was on their wedding day.

Both took the paper before nikah in the noon. They went to the examination centre from a beauty parlour in their wedding dressing much to the delight of other candidates and invigilators.

INJURED: Fourteen minibus passengers were injured late on Wednesday on Okara-Dipalpur Road near village 51/2L when the bus overturned.

The injured people, including two women, were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

CHEQUES: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sucrat Aman Rana distributed cheques to 151 Christians at the TMA hall on Thursday. Each person received a cheque for Rs5,000. Addressing the audience, the DCO said their problems would be resolved on a priority basis.
