KARACHI: The Middle East is currently undergoing a tumultuous phase but we will not let enemies take advantage of this situation, said Commander Royal Saudi Naval Forces Vice Admiral Abdullah Al-Sultan on Saturday.

The Saudi naval chief, while addressing the passing out parade at Pakistan Naval Academy, emphasised that Saudi Arabia along with other countries stand united and committed to resolve all the issues peacefully.

He said that Saudi Arabia considers Pakistan its closest friend and believes in bilateral and multi-lateral resolution of all regional conflicts through dialogue.

“Both the brotherly countries are always keen to further augment regional cooperation in various fields of mutual interest and to further the cause of maintaining international peace and stability,” the visiting naval chief reiterated.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy complete harmony on regional problems and hold regular consultative sessions on bilateral issues, said Vice Admiral Abdullah Al-Sultan.

“We greatly value the support currently being offered to us by Pakistan Navy and the regular conduct of bilateral naval exercises like ‘Naseem Al-Bahr’ also bear testimony to this fact,” he said.

Congratulating and extending felicitations, the Commander Royal Saudi Naval Forces advised the passing out midshipmen and cadets to seek professional knowledge and technology from all available resources.

Earlier the Saudi Naval Commander was received by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah. Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy in his welcome address highlighted the salient features of the officers’ training.

He apprised the audience that the commissioning term comprises 68 midshipmen including 46 from Pakistan and 22 from brotherly countries Bahrain and Libya.

The commandant highlighted that cadets from Bahrain, Jordan, Libya, Maldives, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan and Yemen are also undergoing training at Pakistan Naval Academy.
