KARACHI: Despite a good all-round performance from Shahzaib Khan, Orangi Muslim CC suffered a 36-run defeat against Golden Gymkhana in the KCCA Zone-VI Abdul Badar Memorial Cricket Tournament match at the KCCA Stadium here on Thursday.

Batting first, Golden Gymkhana collected 200-9 in the stipulated 40 overs Zohaib Rizwan striking seven boundaries and four sixes in making 81. Off-spinner Hasan Shirazi grabbed four wickets for 29 runs and Shahzaib taking 2-23.

Orange Muslim CC, in reply, were restricted to 164-9. Shahzaib, however, excelled as he hit an unbeaten 70 that included five fours. Saad Zia took 3-30.

Meanwhile, Openers Arsal Wasim (74 with 12 boundaries) and Fawad Mustafa (43, four fours and one six) starred in a clinical 10-wicket victory for Late Ismail Jaffer CC against National Gymkhana at the Afza Cricket Ground.

National Gymkhana mustered 140 all out in 27 overs with Mohammad Ahsan scoring 55 (nine fours and one six). Paceman Hamza Khan captured three wickets for 42 runs.

Late Ismail Jaffer CC then romped home in only 18.5 overs.
