MIRPURKHAS: Speakers at a training workshop for journalists on appropriate reporting on forced marriages and minority rights held here on Monday said that better reporting on minorities issues could have a good impact on security, good governance, economic development and cultural diversity.

They said at the workshop organised by the Sindh Rural Partners Organisation that expanding media coverage including reports on minorities would increase public’s sense of security.

They emphasised the need for using the skills learnt at the training workshop in practical journalism and urged media to give voice to neglected elements of society. If media communicated all information in proper form then the problem would be recognised and solved, they said.
