LAHORE: A group of 90 students and teachers of the National College of Arts (NCA) spent a day out with Pakistan Army at Lahore Garrison on Friday.

The programme was specifically organised to brief the group on the routine functioning of the army, its organisation, operational preparedness and defence capability under its programme ‘Know your Army’.

The programme was initiated for the youth on the instructions of Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif, says a press release.

The group witnessed a demonstration by the quick reaction force to combat terrorists and commended the agility and fighting capability of the Light Commando Battalion. They visited an infantry and armour battalion where they learned technical know-how on weapon handling and small arms firing skills.

The students visited the forward defensive locations and commended the professionalism, dedication and resolve of Army officers and Jawans.

The programme culminated with a flag lowering ceremony at Pakistan-India joint check post at Ganda Singhwala. The students were thrilled by smart turnout and bearing combined with immaculate drills by troops of Pakistan Rangers.

They chanted slogan ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. The students thanked the army high command for arranging such a splendid and informative visit for them.
