KARACHI: A 24-member Pakistan squad, led by Hasnain Alam, will leave for Dhaka on Monday to compete in the Five-nation ICRC International Cricket Tournament for People with Physical Disabilities starting from Wednesday.

Pakistan will begin their campaign with a round-robin game against Afghanistan on Thursday at the BKSP Ground.

They will have nets at the same venue on Tuesday afternoon.

Before departing for the Bangladesh capital, Hasnain vowed to live to the expectations of the nation.

“We are looking forward to the challenges this five-nation tournament offers. As skipper, I am confident that our team will give their shot,” Hasnain remarked at the conclusion of the training camp here at the National Stadium on Sunday. “The conditions in Dhaka will be more or less similar to what we find in Karachi. We are definitely capable of winning the title.”

Head coach Zafar Iqbal said that his players have prepared well for the competition during the short camp in Karachi.

“We will play the positive cricket to achieve good results. Undoubtedly, the lads have trained well over the few days,” Zafar said in Sunday.
