DADU: Activists of the Sindh United Party (SUP) staged a march here on Thursday in protest against large-scale corruption in all government departments and ‘sale of government jobs to the highest bidders’.

Many activists had arrived from Johi, Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Sehwan, Bhan Syedabad and Sita Road besides Dadu to participate in the march, which started from new bus stand and terminated at the press club.

SUP leaders Roshan Ali Buriro, Mir Moula Bux Leghari and Ghulam Qadir Leghari who led the protest said that merit had had been trampled upon in all government departments because of massive corruption. More than Rs1 billion worth corruption was committed in Sindh daily, they claimed.

They said that government jobs were being sold to the highest bidders which had caused extreme disappointment among the jobless youth. It had also contributed to a rise in ratio of suicide among youths, they said.

They said that elected representatives themselves were supporting corrupt officers.

The corruption under this political system with the ruling party at its head had destroyed all government departments, they said and announced they would continue their protests and marches across the province till serious efforts were made to curb corruption.
