Teenage boy raped in police station

SHEIKHUPURA: Warburton police arrested one of their colleagues on Monday for allegedly raping a teenage boy in the police station.

Nankana District Police Officer Shahzada Sultan visited the police station. The alleged rape victim was taken into custody on Wednesday in a mobile phone theft case.

The alleged rapist took the boy from the lockup to a room and raped him.

Station House Officer (SHO) Yaqoob Virk and other officials were alerted by the cries of the boy. They held the low-rank official under Section 377 of the Pakistan Penal Code and 155-C/4479 of the Police Order 2002.

The DPO also suspended the SHO from service and ordered a case against him for keeping the boy in the lock-up without any case for three days. He said the SHO should have produced him before a judicial magistrate right after taking him into custody. The DPO said the boy was a habitual thief. Earlier the Bhikhi police in Sheikhupura had arrested him in a similar case.

It shows the state of mindset. i wont say mindset of whole pakistan or regionally, south asia. but we should agree that a large proportion of the populace is trapped in this thinking. maybe too much exposure of these kind of news is the main reason. because before that, everyone with these kinds of thoughts felt guilt from inside for his dirty thoughts but now he feels like everyone is doing so its not that wrong.

The policeman who has violated, law of the land, law of the police regulations, law of iman and law of humanity, should be sent to ATC for speedy punishment, maybe even the ultimate one. This will be mercy for him as the relatives of the boy will hound this disgraced policeman to do their own justice.

@shah G the problem is that government ministers don't consider this a serious crime, see what was and has been their stance in Kasur case, and how police behaved there in Kasur and elsewhere in the province depoliticizing police is the only solution which PMLN and Sharif brothers can hardly afford! They are winning elections and ruling the country with the help of police

@WasimKarachi - Both India and Pakistan suffer from such problems. This kind of rape has happened in police lockup in India also. Both countries police are seriously mentally damaged. Its just that in India people have started speaking up frequently and the stigma attache to rape, while still there, is not so much of a deterrent. Crimes get reported. Police is totally politicised and incompetent on both sides of the border.

A teenager arrested by police for whatever reasons was subject to rape in police lock up in Islamic republic state.Who will care for it? Only social media, nd newspapers have moral duty to put up resistance against evil forces which are abundant in all segments of our society. Why we have legislators, public representatives? What are their responsibilities? Will Khadim e alla,Chief Minister of Punjab, take strong action against the culprits. The DPO, should also be made accountable for lack of negligence/ monitoring in his domain.
