BADIN: Ali Hassan Hingorjo, special assistant to the chief minister for relief and rehabilitation, on Thursday expressed concern over flooding in Badin district due to failed drainage system.

Speaking to journalists after receiving a briefing on the post-rain situation in the district, Mr Hingorjo said he would prepare a report and present it to the chief minister for appropriate action.

He said any official found to be negligent or irresponsible would have to face the music.

Badin Deputy Commissioner Rafique Quraishi in his briefing said that the upper Sindh districts of Ghotki, Khairpur and Kandhkot-Kashmore were the worst-hit by the recent rains.

He said an assessment of losses was under way while the affected people were being rehabilitated.
