Nadra mistake

Published July 5, 2015

A FEW days ago, I visited Nadra’s G-10 Islamabad office for the renewal of my CNIC. After paying a heavy fee for smart CNIC, photo, biometrics and signature, I was astonished to know that I and my children are mentioned in the record as ‘Bahai’. It was very disturbing to me.

On inquiry, the Nadra staff put all responsibility on me for mentioning the incorrect religion. In 2005, I and my wife got CNICs amended after marriage. It is surprising that my wife’s religion has been mentioned Islam, while mine as Bahai. I still remember that I endorsed the column of the last Prophethood of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on Nadra form. Then how can I become Bahai? The desk in charge was not ready to accept their fault.

I request the authorities concerned to direct officers to fill the data carefully.
