KARACHI: Inspired by a blazing half-century from Sharjeel Khan, Touchme made light work of Omar Colts in their 30th Karachi Gymkhana Omar Associates Ramazan Cricket Festival match at the KG Ground here on Saturday.

Opting to field first at the toss proved beneficial for Touchme CC skipper Khalid Latif as Omar Colts were dismissed for 90 in 19.3 overs after being 40-1 in the sixth over.

Barring opener Mohammad Irfan (21 off 14 balls, two fours and one six) and Mohammad Imran (26 off 29, one four) no other batsman could reach double figures.

Atif Maqbool, Salman Ali, Azam Hussain and Imran Ali shared the wickets with each of them taking a brace.

Touchme CC romped to victory in 9.1 overs by reaching 94-1. The left-handed Sharjeel smashed eight boundaries and three sixes in scoring 56 from 33 deliveries while Salman Ali followed up his tidy off-spin bowling by contributing 27 (16 balls, four boundaries) in the unbroken partnership of 67 with Sharjeel.

Atif Maqbool was declared man-of-the-match for his outstanding spell of 4-1-6-2.

Summarised scores:

OMAR COLTS 90 in 18.3 overs (Mohammad Imran 26, Mohammad Irfan 21; Atif Maqbool 2-6, Salman Ali 2-18, Azam Hussain 2-20, Imran Ali 2-20); TOUCHME CC 94-1 in 9.1 overs (Sharjeel Khan 56 not out, Salman Ali 27 not out).
