LAHORE: One person was killed and three others injured when two motorcycles rammed into each on Burki Road on Friday.

Nooruddin, 50, and his son were going on a motorcycle when two unidentified motorcyclists coming from the opposite direction allegedly lost control and collided with the oncoming bike.

Motorcyclists on both vehicles suffered injuries and were taken to hospital where Nooruddin died and others were said to be out of danger.

Burki Station House Officer Naveed Azam said no one approached them to lodge a case as both parties were injured. He said according a witness, the two motorcycles collided due to over-speeding.

Suicide: A young man allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills in Mughalpura on Friday.

Police said Noorul Hasan, 20, locked himself in a room of the house and after some time the family found him unconscious.

He was taken to Mayo Hospital to be pronounced dead on arrival.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and later handed it over to the family.

Investigating Officer SI Khadim Husain said that police also found an empty bottle of poisonous pills in the room. He said they were investigating why the man ended his life.

ACCIDENT: A teenage boy was killed in an accident near Data Sahib on Friday.

Police said 19-year-old Adnan, a helper of a trailer, was asleep in a makeshift bed on the trailer when he fell to the ground when the driver put on the brake in front of Data Sahib shrine. He was crush under the wheel.

Police said the boy died instantly and his body was shifted to the city morgue for autopsy.

Police also arrested the driver and impounded the trailer.

IGP: Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Sukhera on Friday issued transfer and posting orders of three police officers.

According to a news release, Mughalpura SDPO Abdul Qayyum has been transferred and posted as Daska SDPO on a vacant post. Jhelum DSP Traffic Muhammad Ashraf Chadhar has been transferred and posted as Old Anarkali SDPO against a vacant post.

The IGP also transferred Malikwal DSP Muhammad Islam and ordered him to report to the Central Police Office, Punjab.
