VEHARI: Police recovered four-year-old boy and arrested three alleged kidnappers after a raid at a house in the suburban area of Burewala on Thursday evening.

DPO Sadiq Ali Dogar told reporters that trader Tahir Khaliq informed police that his son Abdullah had been kidnapped from a street outside his house on Thursday.

He said the kidnappers later demanded Rs0.5 million ransom from Khaliq for the release of his son.

The DPO said the police on a tip-off conducted raids at different areas in Burewala tehsil and succeeded in recovering the boy and arresting kidnappers Umair, Rizwan and Hanan of Machiwal. He said all the kidnappers were between 20 and 25 years of age.

Mr Dogar said the police recovered a car used by kidnappers for the purpose.

He said a case had been registered against the arrested culprits.
