QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested another senior official of the Balochistan Development Authority (BDA) for his alleged involvement in embezzlement of public funds allocated for a road project.

According to official sources, Additional General Manager BDA Sheikh Muhammad Mehdi was arrested by a NAB team on Wednesday when his pre-arrest bail application was rejected by a court.

“Mr Mehdi was arrested for his alleged involvement in embezzlement of development funds to the tune of Rs196.837 million allocated for the Dobandi Toba Ahcakzai Road project,” said a NAB official. He said some other officials of the BDA were found involved in misappropriation of the government funds who had already been arrested by NAB.
