GUJRAT: The Centre for Languages and Translation Studies (CeLTS) of the University of Gujrat (UoG) organised a literary and cultural night.

Dr Anwar, Dr Tabassum Kashmiri, Dr Saadat Saeed, Dr Mirza Hamid Baig were among the guests of honour.

The programme revolved mostly around the translation-based performances besides a cultural show. It was a multilingual event as the performances on the stage were in Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, Seraiki and English languages.

Urdu translation of the Shakespeare’s, Hamlet, Punjabi translation of a Pashto poem, Urdu translation of the famous Christopher Marlow’s play, Dr Faustus, were the performances that enthralled the audience.

They also liked the folk dance of Gilgit Baltistan and a Seraiki song. The MPhil scholars of the CeLTS were among the performers.
