ISLAMABAD: The capital police arrested a woman for impersonating as a doctor, blackmailing and sexually exploiting other women.

Following the disclosure of the woman’s activities in an English daily, the interior minister took notice of the matter. He instructed the Inspector General of Islamabad Police to investigate the allegations and take action.

According to police sources, during preliminary investigation, police found out that she was using fake identification documents and impersonating as a doctor. The police sealed her hospital, located on Lehtrar Road.

The police said the woman was produced before a magistrate and taken to Adiala Jail on judicial remand.

“Allegations of homosexuality have not yet been proven but one of her victims has provided evidence of blackmail including audio and video recordings,” said a police official, requesting anonymity.

“She was carrying a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and a passport, both of which were under different names,” he added.

Earlier, Koral police registered a case on charges of PPC 377 (unnatural offences), 506 (criminal intimidation), 419 (cheating by impersonation) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) in response to the complaint lodged by a woman she allegedly blackmailed.

The complainant, in her statement to the police, said the woman posing to be a doctor, befriended her, manipulated her into having a sexual relationship with her and later blackmailed her.

In the complaint, she accused the woman of sexually exploiting and blackmailing many young women. She said the accused had also taken her passport, mobile phone and other valuables.
