KARACHI: A minor explosion occurred on the premises of the city courts on Thursday, creating panic among judges, lawyers and litigants.

The blast took place near the malkhana (storehouse of case property) where discarded case properties are dumped.

There were no injuries or loss of property.

SHO Shoaib-ur-Rehman claimed that a bottle containing chemicals blew up, adding that it might have been accidentally left out as a cleanliness drive was under way. He denied that the blast occurred due to any explosive substance.
