KARACHI: The National Student’s Federation (NSF) organised the formation of a human shield at the Holi celebrations at Swami Narayan Temple today to show solidarity with and protect Hindus in attendance.

The demonstration is an attempt to promote interfaith coexistence and cooperation among different religious and ethnic groups in Pakistan. The NSF leveraged social media to spread information about the event, extending e-vitations to others who share their outlook on religious tolerance and wish to participate in the demonstration.

A member of the NSF describes it as a “progressive leftist organisation” dating back to the NSF of the Ayub Khan era. The organisation experienced a revival in 2006 – 2008.

The NSF recently organised a Progressive Day School in Karachi ─ a series of one-day workshops to educate guests about issues like religious extremism and terrorist ideologies.

Earlier this year, the NSF also organised a show of solidarity with Shias at the Shah-i-Najaf Imambargah in conjunction with the Pakistan Youth Alliance (PYA). The event was attended by notable individuals including Dr. Jaipaal Chhabria, President of the Pak Hindu Forum, and Mohammad Jibran Nasir, lawyer and political activist.

General Secretary Karachi of the NSF, Fawwad Hasan, told Dawn, “When we showed solidarity with Shias at the Imambargah, Dr. Jaipaal Chhabria joined us and stood alongside us so it’s only fair that as a group, we extend the same courtesy to all Hindus in Pakistan who face a lot of prosecution of different kinds."

He cited the desecration of Hindu temples, forcible religious conversion of girls against their will, and suppression of culture and religious practices as reasons for showing solidarity with and protecting Hindus.

“We are not religious fundamentalists who take religion into our own hands, that is not what we do,” he explained. “Society as a whole has to show change and be a part of that change. If you don’t stand up for someone else’s rights today, tomorrow you will also be targeted and there will be no one to stand up for your rights.”

Commenting on the need for an end to sectarian violence, Mr. Jibran Nasir had earlier said “Four imambargahs were attacked across Pakistan in the past five weeks.”

“We gathered outside Shah-i-Najaf Imambargah to form a human chain to send a message of unity and solidarity as our response to the sectarian violence by banned outfits including Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan, Lashkar-i-Jhangvi and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat."

“This imambargah is situated off Jehangir Road with poor security arrangements in place and is not a typically posh area, yet many people, including Sunnis, came forward to raise their voice against the brutality. It’s time to raise our voices against cruelty and brutality regardless of ethnic and political backgrounds and sectarian beliefs.”

These sentiments are echoed by the NSF which seeks to disrupt a narrative of government apathy concerning religious minorities.

Bless these these kind and bold angels For this gesture.

someone_else Mar 05, 2015 08:15pm

what a shame. People in Pakistan need to form a human shield to help minority celebrate their festival in peace???

Sohail Mar 05, 2015 08:16pm

well done NSF, you are true Muslims. There should be religious freedom to all ethnic minorities in any Islamic state.

hrk Mar 05, 2015 08:19pm

Till how long we need shields for everyone, including muslims, in our country. Can we just not g along with our business without any fear?

anony Mar 05, 2015 08:19pm

Well done NSF.

Javed USA Mar 05, 2015 08:19pm

Appreciate what NSF is doing. However, it's too little too late. I want to ask those crying for Gujrat riot victims what have they done to make minority feel comfortable in Pakistan?

nitin Mar 05, 2015 08:20pm

now that's a true spirit. I can say now humans live in Pakistan . Bravo. God bless you all.

Shamsher Singh Bajwa Mar 05, 2015 08:23pm

Bravo!!! Bravo!! A Salute to the people of Karachi!

Sarmad Mar 05, 2015 08:24pm

A fantastic gesture, madness has no endurance. So keep it up.

Bobby Mar 05, 2015 08:29pm

on the other hand, no hindu participate to make a human chain for worshippers in mosque or muslims celebrating Eid. Because there is no need for that. Muslims are as safe in India as people of any other religion.

Anwar Ahmad Mar 05, 2015 08:30pm

Need of the hour.

Strange that MQM and PPP with their secular credentials have stayed away.

One can argue this is too little, too late, but one has to start from somewhere.

vaibhav bhatt Mar 05, 2015 08:31pm

Well done!!!! Pakistan.. I guess our generation is moving inch by inch but good news is we are moving .. Well let's keep this spirit alive

Sanjeev Mishra Mar 05, 2015 08:32pm

After a long time something good happening on the other side of our border.

naseer Mar 05, 2015 08:35pm

U actually care for Muslims in minority else where on earth. Hats off to u guys.

Manjeet kocchar Mar 05, 2015 08:35pm

@someone_else. Please stop berating and learn to appreciate good things in life. It is a wonderful gesture silver linings these students are courageous at least

daada Mar 05, 2015 08:38pm

thanks for reporting this dawn! Some more photos would be great!

Salma Mar 05, 2015 08:43pm

Amazing gesture. These people bring hope to the country.

illmatic Mar 05, 2015 08:51pm

"A member of the NSF describes it as a “progressive leftist organisation” dating back to the NSF of the Ayub Khan era." There is hope left. Pakistan is not lost.

Saira Mar 05, 2015 08:51pm

Great job btw. You guys are awesome.

akhilesh Mar 05, 2015 08:53pm

With such a kind gesture, world should be able to resolve any kind of conflict.

Imran Mar 05, 2015 08:55pm

@someone_else "what a shame. People in Pakistan need to form a human shield to help minority celebrate their festival in peace???" Its just symbolic for the times. Hindus have been celebrating Holi / Dewali peacefully for decades in Pakistan and there has never been any reported bad incident around these celebrations.

Shahid Akbar, USA Mar 05, 2015 08:57pm

Nice to see the picture of togetherness. This was Karachi when I left Pakistan many decades ago. Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Parsis and others used to celebrate together. Happy Holi!

WiseMan Mar 05, 2015 08:57pm

Good job NSF.. Thank you

Imran Mar 05, 2015 08:59pm

Calm down everyone. Hindus have always celebrated their festivals freely in Pakistan without any interference. Lets not pretend this is the first Holi they are being allowed to celebrate. May be the first time Dawn is reporting it but this is something that has occurred regularly since time immemorial. The human shield is just symbolic for the troubled times we are going through and a clear message to the intolerant Mullah brigade that we the masses have no qualms with our Hindu countrymen.

Shahid Akbar, USA Mar 05, 2015 08:59pm

@someone_else SEE THE GLASS HALF FULL.

Zak Mar 05, 2015 09:04pm

India needs to learn from Pakistan of how to treat minorities, collectively. This is pakistan, not the deliberately false one depicted in indian media.

HMZ Mar 05, 2015 09:05pm

I am feeling proud today NSF and the people of my city karachi just because of yours fantastic gesture.

Gaurav Arya Mar 05, 2015 09:10pm

Pakistani brothers, you have our everlasting gratitude. You are the true inheritors of Jinnah sahib and Faiz Ahmad Faiz. You have no idea what you have done by this selfless gesture. I thank you and will remain forever grateful for this act.

Karachi Wala Mar 05, 2015 09:12pm

Pakistan needs many NSF's.

javid Mar 05, 2015 09:12pm

Well done guys. keep up the good will

Prasad Mar 05, 2015 09:14pm

Well done NSF ... may your creed increase exponentially in Pakistan...

Indoaryan Mar 05, 2015 09:15pm

To NSF a very courageous stand and coming from a conservative society as well. You have the power to change Pakistan, save the country from religious fundamentalists and there is still a chance to change Pakistan into a progressive and liberal Muslim society.

Haider Mar 05, 2015 09:20pm

Harmony Mar 05, 2015 09:22pm

@Javed USA - "it's too little too late". So per your 'brilliant' logic something good should never be done!!!

nasiroski Mar 05, 2015 09:22pm

So NSF is back, if they have the same manifesto as original NSF. Pakistan badly needs progressive leftist groups to counter the extreme right wing religious baseless narrative, corrupting public minds. I hope students in Karachi rally behind them.

Indian Mar 05, 2015 09:23pm

pakistan changing..??...?? least few people are trying. Good job, keep it up! I hope more people will join you.

Riaz Mar 05, 2015 09:24pm

Very well done, feeling very proud of our youth as usual.

Shahryar Shirazi Mar 05, 2015 09:24pm

NSF ( not sure what the parent political party is) , PPP, ANP, MQM, Baloch parties are all parties with secular mindset.

Sarv eshwar(Supreme Lord) Mar 05, 2015 09:29pm

These holy celebrations of very few are just last celebration for exhibition sake.

ashok kumar lal Mar 05, 2015 09:34pm

great.keep it up

Talabgaar Mar 05, 2015 09:34pm

Good job NSF and Pakistan! I have been a regular reader of Dawn and I want to tell my Pakistani friends that although I am an Indian, it gives me no pleasure to read negative news about Pakistan whether in Indian news media, on YouTube or anywhere else. Scandal and gossip may make for chatpata reading material, but I know that many of my Indian friends will agree with me that we want to see positivity and progress on either sides of the border. Dawn is a quality publication and the many voices of reason that I see here (both Indian and Pakistani) give me hope of good neighborly relationship between our countries in not too distant a future.

pady Mar 05, 2015 09:38pm

Very good guys, I want to see Pakistani minorities living and celebrating freely as they do in India.

sreejesh Mar 05, 2015 09:47pm

Young educated people always take right décision. It is not late and it is the time to kick Start action against evil deeds committed by wrongly educated people.

BlackHat Mar 05, 2015 09:48pm

Congratulations Pakistan and NSF. More power to you. It is good to see the values of humanity rise to the top. But, do it for yourself Pakistan, not for Shias or Hindus, then automatically everyone, including minorities will be able to lead peaceful, happy lives. All the very best.

Kalbe Ali Mar 05, 2015 09:48pm

I wish I would have been there I cannot forget Swami Narayan mandir - one of only two places where I lost my sandal while praying, the other one was AbuTurab Imambarghah FB Area.

very good initiative.kudos to volunteers.

Fi Mar 05, 2015 10:09pm

Well done. Keep it up. Proud of you.

Che Ben Mar 05, 2015 10:09pm

I salute NSF. Institutions like NSF are future of Pakistan. Humanity needs tolerance and divergence. How ugly humans would have been if all 5 fingers were of the same size? When as a Muslim country we cannot bear fellow muslims what would world be if everybody was a Muslim? Think! Humanity and the righteous path is critical than belonging to a religious club. Three cheers for Janab Nasir, NSF, Janab Chabbria and all those who came out to celebrate the festival of Holi. Let there be more celebrations (but not of pomp and show and unnecessary killing of animals). Bravo.

SB Mar 05, 2015 10:10pm

@Zak I every time wait for your regressive comments and you do not fail to dissapoint us. :))

Fiqa Mar 05, 2015 10:10pm

@someone_else what a shame you are unable to see positive in anything.

SBB Mar 05, 2015 10:15pm

This is a wonderful and brave gesture of solidarity. Thank you. Too bad the Hindoos of Pakistan are at risk.

jagmohan Mar 05, 2015 10:23pm

A laudable gesture by brothers of Pakistan to increase and maintain the inter-faith friendship in the society. It is a big step towards controlling the the extremism and leading the country to peace and prosperity.Steps of NSF and student's organisation are in the right direction.

good start! Hopefully in the coming years, there is no tokenism or need for protection where people of faith can co exist peacefully.

SR Mar 05, 2015 10:40pm

Laudable thoughts and action by NSF. Hopefully the idea spreads among society changing mindset of more people. Appreciation from an Indian.

Surinder Jeet Mar 05, 2015 10:45pm

This will do more for Indians than the visit of a foreign secretary. Kudos to Pakistani friends.

GK Natarajan Mar 05, 2015 10:46pm

welcome step!keep it up!

Mansoor Mar 05, 2015 10:57pm

Great job. Hats off to NSF. I hope this thing is contagious and spreads to every Pakistani.

Aadami Mar 05, 2015 10:59pm

Nice to see this, but recently there were 6000 Hindus migrated from Pak to India on citizen/PR base.

sajid Mar 05, 2015 11:00pm

Its a great thing that all People of Pakistan should live in peace and harmony regardless of their religion or ethnicity, All who live in Pakistani first and then others. This message of peace and harmony should also be promoted through wider media and drilled well into those people who want to create frictions, I hope people will take it to their hearts and abide to it. It would be a great thing for pakistan

Anwar Mar 05, 2015 11:07pm

Allowing Hindus and Christians to practice their faith is a magnificent gesture. Unprecedented in Pakistan!

rahul1 Mar 05, 2015 11:15pm

Religious tolerance.....Sauds don't like this... NS will be summoned again to KSA

raghu Mar 05, 2015 11:17pm

Finally we can find some people in pakistan who are truly brave...good

karachi Wally Mar 05, 2015 11:20pm

This is not a mean achievement what NSF is doing here it should be considered as a major milestone in our history. At last we can see co-existence and pluralism. All the best.

Raja Mar 05, 2015 11:20pm

@someone_else I think nice people pick up the courage to praise.

Naeem Mar 05, 2015 11:37pm

Very sensible action.

Rishabh Mar 05, 2015 11:37pm

Salute from India to Jibran Nasir. Some Pakistanis will make you proud to be human. The only thing I hate is that these kind of people aren't as strong a voice as they should be in the sub-continent. May allah and Ishwar bless us with a million Jibran Nasirs all over the sub-continent.

Khalid Mar 05, 2015 11:39pm

This is the best news item I have seen in a longtime. I am not sure what NSF is but they are doing the country proud.

Nand Mar 05, 2015 11:44pm

This should be the face of Pakistan. Congratulations.

Moonshine Mar 05, 2015 11:47pm

@Zak : Really! I sincerely hope you are correct. The kind of rabid hatred you post everyday on Dawn doesn't show this maturity in you. World has learnt tolerance from India.Islam is as much our religion as Hinduism, Sikhism or Christianity. There are communal incidents at times, but they are serious aberrations for which majority Indians feel outraged.Come out of your indoctrination & understand other faiths & cultures and learn to respect them.

Suyogi Mar 05, 2015 11:47pm

So Heartening to read this! kudos to people of Pakistan... Love is greater than all dogmas and differences.... may peace and love spread and our subcontinent prosper!

Harmony Mar 05, 2015 11:53pm

Harisingh Mar 06, 2015 12:22am

Love and kindness is the ultimate pursuit of all beings. People who carry hatred for others are never at peace within themselves. If anything one feels sorry for them.

Proud of you guys!! Just remember there will be setbacks in form of violence from other side. Just patiently and kindly help the other side see through their malice. Responding to their hatred and anger with more hatred and anger will see no end to it.

Just be patient and be kind in the face those setbacks.

Well Done NSF. Lets hope this helps growing FRATERNITY AND LOVE between the people across the border. May both the lands grow in peace and progress instead of spending on weapons and wars. Utimately no one wins a war. Love assures peace and Prosperity. Finally our choice... which side to choose for the betterment of our NEXT GENERATIONS.

Manohar Mar 06, 2015 12:56am

What a humane gesture! Thank you.

There is never 'too late' for any new idea to form and implement.

What NSF has done and doing is a great step forward for a peaceful country wherever everyone from all faiths live together in harmony.

In India we don't form human shield for celebration of eid or Zoroastrian festivals.

Raja Mar 06, 2015 03:05am

Very nice of those people becoming human shield for Hindus living in Pakistan, after all they are Pakistani first then Hindu second.

pragmaticpakistani Mar 06, 2015 03:20am

Happy diwali

Rosebell Mar 06, 2015 03:25am

Why great things only happens in Karachi? This kind of tolerance should travel to other cities of Pakistan also.

Puttu Mar 06, 2015 03:40am

Good luck, NSF. This news item is the first flicker of hope from Pakistan. If you can take this forward, Pakistan would become one of the strongest countries of the world. It has everything. Only too much religion is keeping it back. If only it could keep religion confined to one's home and heart. All the best!

Puttu Mar 06, 2015 03:42am

@Sohail Please, don't bring religion into this. They are the only ray of hope from Pakistan. Let them spread this hope everywhere. And this hope would die if you identify them as Muslims again. They are human beings. Isn't that enough. Why reduce them with religion?

Puttu Mar 06, 2015 03:45am

@Zak Ha, ha, ha....Which newspapers do you read and which TV channels do you watch? Come to India and spend a few days here. That would do you a world of good. Despite its weaknesses India is one of the most modern countries in its secular fabric and modern outlook.

Lost Lakha Mar 06, 2015 03:51am

@Dwaraka Nath, there is always a first step that needs moral support and encouragement. Please go to NSF people and find out all about their future plans and if convince and satisfied, do not hesitate to offer your positive contribution within your reach and limitations.

Would you kindly oblige and prove your sincerity of purpose, Thanks.

ZackKhan Mar 06, 2015 03:56am

@someone_else instead of encouraging you are criticizing a bold action! Try supporting muslims in your country!

Lost Lakha Mar 06, 2015 04:00am

Yes, such is the need of the hour, all human beings, irrespective of their caste, color, creed and community must join hand with NSF to lend them due and desired moral and material support support as an encouragement to continue with their efforts in building up of a tolerant society with sense of brotherhood rather than barbarism.

Pakistani_Fan Mar 06, 2015 04:10am

Good work keep it up.

Aman Mar 06, 2015 04:13am

@someone_else I think differently.. I think it is a step towards a change... and all these things collectively help in forming a happy community...yu shud encourage instead of feeling ashamed all the time... wat yu do to eradicate problem matters more than wat yu feel..stop feeling ashamed and do smthng that u never hav to face such problem again

Saviour Mar 06, 2015 04:21am

Great job! Feel extra happy to be a Karachi-walla and a Pakistani today! It is our responsibility to ensure all minorities in our cities, towns and villages are safe for our minorities and that they enjoy equal rights as their Muslim brothers. Happy Holi to the Pakistani Hindu community !

I salute your courage and you wisdom. This is a dangerous but the only right way to fight the insanity in our country. I remember NSF, as I was Young and a (halfway) Rebel in Karachi. Now I am old and far away from Pakistan. It is improbable and illogical but this type of news seems to cancel the years and Kilometers from my life. Zara umre raftan ko awaz dena…. Thousand thanks to show me some light in the dark and long labyrinth in my country.

Saleem Mir,MD Mar 06, 2015 06:25am

This is humanity, pristine and pure challenging men of any creed to stand up and make a difference. NSF or for that matter anyone who follows the suite to stand with their beleaguered neighbors deserves salutations. Kudos!

General Ranjit Singh Sukarcharia Mar 06, 2015 06:37am

Holi celebrations is an old Arya custom celebrated in the old Punjab and north west of hind and it is about breaking down barriers, bringing happiness , laughter and just having lots of fun especially for the youngsters and everyone. It is just being human again.

Very well said SomeoneElse. For all those berating SomeoneElse, whats wrong in his/her statement? Do you see human shields for Muslims celebrating Eid or Christians celebrating Christmas in India? I would never want to live in a country where humans have to form a shield so that other humans can have few hours of fun. Thank god for India where every one is free to celebrate their own festivals whether you are majority or minority.

Zak: Each time you set a low bar for yourself in posting rabid hate laced comments buddy. Keep them coming....have to see how low one can go :-)

You do read a lot of stuff which can emote you in different ways. Very rarely one reads of developments in Pakistan which are exciting and uplifting. This one is as bright as the doors of life opening to someone terminally ill.

uchak Mar 06, 2015 09:06am

Am not sure whether this is a good thing. Generally we are not supposed to follow the customs of the pagan and false religions that Islam was made to replace.

Faisal Mar 06, 2015 09:09am

Very well done. Hoping to see the same gesture in future as well.

If that is happening all around the globe, no doubt, one day there will be a ever lasting peace and stability on EARTH.

Our Planet will not be a LuL PLACE.........:)

Meesam Abbas Mar 06, 2015 09:45am

Good and Positive signs for Mutual Co-Existance

Khan Mar 06, 2015 09:52am

@Bobby yeah right

vijaykumar Mar 06, 2015 10:10am

Nice gesture. Was expecting a video instead of stills.

Name sunil kumar Mar 06, 2015 10:16am

thats real humanism .... live and let others live too peacefully .... this is what all religion teaches us .

faizan Mar 06, 2015 10:55am

@someone_else they were making a statement

Datta Mar 06, 2015 11:01am

@Zak .......India needs to learn from Pakistan of how to treat minorities, collectively. This is pakistan, not the deliberately false one depicted in indian media.............

Zak can you say something nice for a change? I'm sure even you have a good side, lets see it.

N K Ali Mar 06, 2015 11:08am

Call me a damn fool for not knowing and participating. My sons and daughter would have joined me and contributed to the feeling of love, compassion, and most of all HUMANITY. Viva Jibran Nasir! Salams

Sampath Mar 06, 2015 11:17am

Thanks people for your efforts. Hindus and muslims seeing each other as human beings first is the only solution to peaceful co-existence.

TrollMeNot Mar 06, 2015 11:18am

Pakistan is changing, and this time for good. Well done Pakistan, progress will follow.

ali Mar 06, 2015 11:22am

incoming Indians who will somehow find a flaw in this and start bashing Pakistan on a Pakistani website

jen Mar 06, 2015 11:26am

Next year it will be banned, dont worry. Anyone remember the word Basant in Pakistan? I say this with conviction because the so-called-true muslims who participated in this holi festival can be(will be) easily silenced by an edict from Islamic scholars or ulema or mufti or anything. Only when these true muslims declare that their life will not be controlled by any holy book, these kind of love can be sustained. Can some of these muslims declare that they are free from their or any religion?

Parivel Mar 06, 2015 11:46am

God bless these peoples..... Hope new beginning comes in Pakistan. Good to project positive news. it brings very positive atmosphere.....

Sudhanshu Swami Mar 06, 2015 11:50am

@Zak Ok do you mean that we should first create an environment that is unsafe for minority and then create an organization to create human shield. This article is praising an organization but at the same time showing the true picture of Pakistan that how unsafe minorities are.

SachIsLife Mar 06, 2015 12:18pm

@Bobby...because its not required in India....

iqbal A. Alavi Mar 06, 2015 12:32pm

Appreciate the initive taken by NSF. This group is always in the fore front against oppression and for religious harmony. The demonstration of support by forming a humand shield is commendable. Well done. Pleasse carry the flame forward. Time and tide wait for your challange. Our tribute to all who participated and the leadership of NSF. Iqbalalavi

Hassan Mar 06, 2015 12:49pm

haque Mar 06, 2015 01:02pm

Beautiful Festival of Colors! Happy Holi to all!

sanjeet Kumar Mar 06, 2015 01:33pm

Nice to see Hindus celebrating Festival of colors Holi in Karachi. Formation of a human shield at celebration place - certainly it gives message of unity not only in Pakistan but outside of Pakistan. HAPPY HOLI.

Tapan Chakraborty Mar 06, 2015 01:58pm

Great attitude , this may spread everywhere in this world .

Zafar Rasool Mar 06, 2015 02:12pm

I commend NSF for what they have done. I wish them all the best in promoting a culture of religious harmony and co-existence. I wish people of older generations, especially well known, would join them in future.

I remember watching an interview of the current Jordanian King in which he said that religious "tolerance" was not the correct word. It implied that we tolerated other religions. He said that it should be religious "acceptance", which accepted other religions.

All of us must respect other people's religious beliefs. All of us have a right to practice our religious beliefs. All of us must try to be good human beings. None of us has any right to judge any human being. Only God will judge us all, who is merciful and forgiving.

gary Mar 06, 2015 02:36pm

Too little, too late.

uzair hasan rizvi Mar 06, 2015 03:02pm

Santanu Sanyal Mar 06, 2015 03:10pm

I'm touched by the story. Hope the message will spread far and wide. Kudos to NSF for initiating such a move.

Raj Mar 06, 2015 03:12pm

Good that a ray of hope from Pakistan that, still some good people who are also good muslims who really take the real teachings of Quaran to respect all the religions to their heart. This is of course, an unexpected surprise from Pakistan from where we most of the times hear only represssion of minorities.

Waseem India Mar 06, 2015 03:27pm

Great job

Waseem India Mar 06, 2015 03:28pm

Good job

TANMAY MAJUMDAR Mar 06, 2015 04:04pm

Kudos, Pakistani brothers. Kudos NHS.

Azhar Mushtaq Mar 06, 2015 04:30pm

Impressive indeed. We all should adhere the thought initiated by young students. Humanism is the preliminary religion of every individual. Keep it up! Long live the ideology of National Students Federation (NSF) Pakistan.

shuja Mar 06, 2015 05:34pm

Islam promotes interfaith harmony and a true Muslim honours and guards the rights of minorities. Hindus and other people of other denominations are also our equals in humanity and their protection in Pakistan is our obligation. Love and respect is a sine qua none.

Arjun Mar 06, 2015 05:34pm

@Sohail there shouldn't be "islamic" states in the first place. The concept simply doesn't make sense.

amitabh Mar 06, 2015 06:39pm

I am an Indian and can't believe that it is happening in Pakistan. INCREDIBLE. My hats off to all young Pakistanis who contributed in securing their hindu brothers and sisters. I would love to hear such news in future. After all, we both are same blood.

sunil Mar 07, 2015 01:05am

happy to see holi in pakistan

sukanya Mar 07, 2015 01:29am

How sad.Fortunately we don't have to create human shield for muslims in India to celebrate Eid.

Laxman Hind Mar 07, 2015 02:10am

Thank you Pakistan... Mera salaam kubul karo

ariz Mar 07, 2015 05:17am

Meida should come up with such positive things too..........great effort

harshi Mar 07, 2015 10:53am

our generation is very practical and realistic. we need solutions to these age old tiring problems....If only our political leaders understood! They will get it the day their stupid speeches no longer lure us! Good job NSF

Sitanshu Mar 07, 2015 11:55am

This is commendable. Youth today don't need hatred. They need development through peace... Bravo..

Anagha Mar 07, 2015 03:16pm

@Zak We do not need to create a human shield here in India. A human shield needs for those who are not safe!! I really appreciate move of NSF. Bravo!!

Anagha Mar 07, 2015 03:22pm

Pakistan Changing!! :-) Good Positive change!

Bablu, India Mar 07, 2015 04:36pm

Thanks Dear Pakistani Bro & Sis, This will help us for a best relationship between these two countries.

Sanjay Guha Mar 08, 2015 09:08am

Way to go Pakistanis. As long as there are people like you in Pakistan your country has future

Sanjay Guha Mar 08, 2015 09:17am

@hrk Interesting thought. May the problems of your society get sorted out

Sanjay Guha Mar 08, 2015 09:20am

@Zak We treat minorities better Zak. No human shield needs to be formed around Muslims or Christians as they are free to celebrate their festivals and they have been doing so for almost 70 years now

Rajesh Bhardwaj Mar 11, 2015 12:01pm

A ray of hope
