ISLAMABAD: A judicial commission recommended on Friday confirmation of four judges of the Lahore High Court and two of the Peshawar High Court, while granting a year-long extension to six additional judges of the LHC.

The cases for the confirmation of 14 additional judges of the LHC and two of the PHC were considered at a meeting of the commission, presided over by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk.

The judges whose confirmation was recommended are Justices Athar Mehmood, Shahid Bilal, Aalia Neelum and Abid Aziz of the LHC and Justices Afsar Shah and Daud Khan of the PHC.

Justices James Joseph, Zafarullah Khan Khakwani, Shams Mirza, Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, Shahid Jameel Khan and Faisal Zaman Khan were termed suitable for extension as the LHC’s additional judges.
