LAHORE: The Crimes Investigation Agency (CIA) police claims to have arrested 26 members of two inter-provincial gangs involved in about 125 incidents of dacoity, robbery and recovered cash, valuables and illegal weapons from their possession.

CIA Superintendent of Police Omer Virk accompanied by a police team on a tip-off conducted raids and arrested 26 members of two gangs and recovered Rs2.5 million, three cars, 12 motorcycles, 14 sports bikes, 41 mobile phones, laptops and illegal weapons.

During interrogation, the criminals confessed to 125 cases of dacoity and robbery, motorcycle and car snatchings in Lahore, Kasur and Sahiwal.

According to a CIA press release, Deputy Inspector General (Investigation) Shahzad Sultan announced commendatory letters for Virk and certificates and cash prizes for members of the police team.
