10 Afghans arrested

SIALKOT: The Daska City police arrested 16 Afghan nationals on Saturday for illegally staying in Pakistan near the Bambaanwala-Ravi-Baidian Canal.

Police registered a case against the suspects under the 14 Foreign Act of 1946, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Engineer Rana Zahid Husain told Dawn.

Those arrested are Dilawar Muhammad Yar, Taimur Shah, Ameer Alam Khan, Muhammad Gul, Said Ahmed, Fareed Sher Muhammad, Nazar Khan, Muhammad Yousaf, Eid Gul Zeb Khan, Shah Wali, Ghulam Muhammad Noor, Rahim Khan, Taj Muhammad, Fazalul Haq, Ismail Akhtar Muhammad and Abdul Rehman.

The DSP said the Afghans could not provide any official proof allowing them stay in Pakistan.
