Mahira Khan has already wooed Indian fans with her incredible performance in Humsafar and now, as reported by Times of India (TOI), the svelte actor is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees.

Mahira visited India last month where during media interactions she was repeatedly asked whether she would sign a Bollywood film. The actor had reportedly dropped subtle hints of the Bollywood filmmakers she would like to work with.

However, the quickest to pick up on the actor's interest to work in Bollywood were producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar who finalised the Sadqay Tumhare actor for director Rahul Dholakia's upcoming film, Raees.

The film has Shah Rukh Khan playing a don and is likely to have Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing a cop. A source told TOI that SRK had dropped in at the audition to meet Mahira.

According to the Mirror, a source said the producers were looking for an "international" face instead of a familiar Bollywood name which explains how Mahira bagged the coveted role.

"She plays SRK's wife in the film. He's a gangster based in Gujarat while Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the cop who traps him in Mumbai," said the source. "It's a complex role and both the film's director Rahul Dholakia and producers, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, believe she is perfect for the part."

The source added that the film would go on floors in Mumbai in February 2015 and certain scenes and parts will be filmed in Gujarat.
