Farmers stage sit-in

BAHAWALPUR: Supporters of the the Kisan Ithehad staged a sit-in at University Chowk on Saturday to condemn the Marot incident (near Fort Abbas) in which police conducted raids and allegedly tortured Ittehad members last week.

Led by Chaudhry Anwar and PPP’s Shaukat Basra, the participants blocked the road which caused a great deal of inconvenience to motorists. They raised slogans against the Bahawalnagar police and demanded the release of their arrested members.
