BAHAWALPUR: An election tribunal headed by retired district and sessions judge Chaudhry Abdul Hafeaz is expected to announce his judgment in the election petition of PML-N’s Makhdum Ahmed Alam Anwar on Sept 23.

Makhdum Anwar in his petition had challenged the election of PPP MNA Khawaja Qutubuddin from NA-192 (Rahim Yar Khan district).

The tribunal had ordered the re-counting of votes of several polling stations and the retired D&SJ completed the process and submitted his report to the tribunal.

The recounting report remained under discussion in the tribunal by the counsel of both sides.
