A clown in town

THIS is regarding the story “A clown in town” by Ghaliya Shafqat (YW, August 23, 2014). I really like the story because I am afraid of clowns, whether they are in the stories or in the movies. I just can’t stand the sight of them. I appreciate the writer for giving the story a happy ending and I hope someday my fear regarding clowns will also be gone.

Origami — fun folding

THIS is with reference to the new section “Origami — fun folding”. I would like to appreciate the YW team to starting this new interesting section as it is fun to play with papers. I always loved making boats and planes from paper and didn’t know that making rabbit and samurai hat will be this easy. This section really fascinates me and I would request the YW team to never stop it.

“ORIGAMI-FUN folding” is a great addition in Young World. It is unique as it guides us to create different things such as a rabbit, heart or the samurai hat step-by-step by showing in pictures which makes it very helping and easy for us.

I appreciate the YW for starting such a wonderful section and hope to see something new and interesting things in it.

It’s all in the colours

THIS is regarding the cover story “It’s all in the colours” by Ambreen Arshad (YW, September 6, 2014). It was an informative article which reminded me of my school days. My school was in Bhit Bhaiti, district Sanghar, which used to have some very nice paintings with greetings in them such as “Bhalee kare aaya” (Welcome) at the entrance of every classroom.

There used to be a timetable with subjects written in different fascinating colours which I would paste beside the blackboard and it always grabbed our attention because of the colours in it. I would like to suggest to the Young World team to publish more articles with interesting information like this, so that children gain more knowledge from them.

“IT’S all in colours” by Ambreen Arshad was a good article on the use of different colours in education.

After describing the properties of different colours, it told about how colours could affect human perception. I found “Learn with colours” a very useful part in the article, in which students were well advised to use different colours for better learning. However, while a proper use of colours enhances learning, an improper use of colours distracts attention during studies.
