KARAK: The officers of management cadre in the education department have complained that the upgradation of clerks to higher scales has disturbed the service hierarchy and demanded that they should also be upgraded to remove the anomaly.

The demand was made at a meeting of the male and female officers of the management cadre from southern districts here on Sunday.

The participants said that with the upgradation of clerks, the superintendents were given pay scale 17 and office assistants that of 16, which disturbed the service hierarchy as the upgraded clerks were no longer ready to work under their supervision, making difficult the smooth functioning of the office.

The management cadre officers claimed that they couldn’t work efficiently in the prevailing environment.

They pointed out that the provincial government had formed a committee to prepare recommendations for upgradation of the rest of the cadres, but the recommendations of the committee had yet to be implemented.

They demanded of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to upgrade the management cadre officers.

TWO KILLED: A woman was killed when she tried to stop two families from fighting in the suburbs of Karak city on Sunday.

Abdul Qasim, the slain woman’s son, registered FIR in Karak police station against Mohammad Raees, Rafiullah and Mushtaq Ahmad.

In another incident, a man identified as Asif was killed in Gurguri Eidal Khel area over a land dispute.

The opponents opened fire on him when he was going home. Sabirabad police registered case and began investigation.
