ISLAMABAD: Eight deputy directors of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) have approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the promotion of junior officers.

Deputy Director Mohammad Asghar Zardari and other petitioners have contended in their petition that they have been working in the civic body since 1996 and were promoted to the designation of deputy director in 2012.

The petition alleges that the authority has promoted

the petitioners’ junior, from grade-19, to the post of directors in various directorates, violating the principles of seniority.

The deputy directors claimed that they should have been promoted according to CDA laws and according to the observation of the Supreme Court.

The petition says that treatment meted out to the petitioners is against the article of the Constitution, which ensures equal treatment.

It says that it was also against the decision of the apex court, which had ordered to promote the officers according to their seniority list.

It requests the court to cancel all the civic body orders, which violate their rights.
