TAXILA: A man allegedly shot dead his wife over a domestic dispute in Model Town in Wah Saddar police area on Friday.

The police sources said the man fled away after killing his wife. Police handed over the body to her family after autopsy at THQ hospital Taxila.

On the other hand, robbers looted a house and a shop at gunpoint in different parts of the city during Eid days.

Four armed men scaled the house of Noor Elahi, a poultry farmer in Model Town area, and held the family hostage. They then escaped with 10 tola gold, cash and pistol.

In the second incident, burglars broke into the jewellery shop of Mehboob Elahi located on Thatta Khalil Road in the limits of Taxila police station and made off with cash and 12 tola gold.

Meanwhile Wah Cantt Police acting on a tip-off raided a gambling den and arrested 10 people.
