Five of a family die in road accident

KHAIRPUR: Five members of a family died in a collision between a passenger wagon and a car on Larkana-Tando Masti-Khairpur link road on Thursday.

The family was returning home in Pir Jo Goth from Larkana in their car when it collided head on with the wagon near Kamal Dero, the area police and local residents said.

Relatives of the victims said all six occupants of the car were rushed to Khairpur and Gambat hospitals where five of them were declared dead on arrival while the sixth person was referred to the Sukkur Civil Hospital due to his serious condition.

The deceased were identified as Bilqees, 50, Taha, 12, Rehman, 22, Heer, 4 and Gurya, 7, family members of Dr Altaf Mallah. The injured person’s name could not ascertained till late on Thursday.
