I adore Kapil Sharma, says Samina Peerzada

Pakistani television actor Samina Peerzada said she adores Indian stand-up comedian and TV anchor Kapil Sharma, in an interview with Times of India.

Peerzada also said that Comedy Nights with Kapil is her favourite show.

She said she could relate to Sharma as his stand-up comedy acts reminded her of a lot of Lahore stand-up comedians.

Responding to whether Pakistani viewers get to watch Indian shows, Peerzada said we [Pakistanis] watch a lot of Indian shows.

She further added that the most amazing thing about Indian shows is the scale on which a soap is made, which makes them different from Pakistani shows.

"There is this sheen of larger than life portrayals that make Indian soaps so different from our shows. Pakistani shows are more to do with drama and are realistic."

Peerzada also said that Pakistani entertainment industry is a powerhouse of strong women.

She further added that she is a feminist and has made some very tough decisions in her life.

Peerzada started her career at a very young age with Bazzar-e-Husn as her debut film, for which she also received a national award. When she started working in television, she realised TV characters had much better roles and hence, she opted to work for television.

Responding to whether being a feminist is tough, Peerzada said she is a feminist who is firm yet gentle and that has helped her a lot.
