MARDAN: The anti-corruption establishment on Saturday initiated an inquiry into alleged irregularities in the Mardan media colony and seized relevant record from the Mardan Development Authority (MDA).

On the complaint of local journalists, the anti-corruption establishment, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa director Ziaullah Khan Toru had directed the deputy director, Habib Rahim Khan, and circle in-charge, inspector Janzada Khan, to hold inquiry into the matter.

Following the directives, the officials raided the MDA offices and seized relevant record of the media colony.

Later, the two officials along with MDA deputy director, Imtiaz Khan, and office-bearers of Mardan Press Club visited the site of the media colony and inspected development work there.

On the occasion, the anti-corruption officials assured the journalists of taking stern action against those who were found responsible for irregularities in the media colony.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed over a land dispute in Jandar Par area of Gujar Garhi on Saturday.

Police said Manjawar and his brother, Ilyas, shot dead Akbar Ali and Misal Khan in the limits of Saddar police station.
