KARACHI: At least three people were killed on Sunday in separate incidents of violence in the metropolis, DawnNews reported.

Upon seeing the police personnel, two suspects opened fire to which the police counterattacked and killed one of them in New Karachi.

One person was gunned down near Federal B Area's Aisha Manzil.

Another person was shot dead in Manghopir area.

Two people were injured during an exchange of firing in Lyari's Kalakot area.

A day earlier, three people, including a policeman, were gunned down in the city.

Karachi is home to multiple conflicts that frequently turn violent, including gang wars and ethnic and political rivalries.

Militants are said to use the city as a hiding place and a source of funds obtained through bank heists, extortion and kidnapping for ransom.
