KARAK: Two minor brothers have died, while several others have been admitted to hospitals due to outbreak of measles in Ghundi Kala area of Takht-i-Nusrati tehsil.

Sources said on Friday that the two victims were identified as Mohammad Sunan and Mohammad Yousaf, sons of Shahid Khan.

The local people said that measles had also affected scores of other children who had been admitted to private hospitals for treatment. They appealed to the health department to send medical teams to the area to prevent further spread of the deadly disease.

PROTEST PLANNED: Anjuman-i-Tajiran Karak and Chountra Ittehad, a local rights organisation, will observe shutter down strike and block the Indus Highway on Monday to protest worst loadshedding and low gas pressure.

Traders’ body general secretary Ghulam Rabbani told a press conference here on Friday that the activists of the two bodies and local people would block the Indus Highway and shut businesses to protest against the SNGPL and Pesco. He said that excessive loadshedding had paralysed routine life. He said that the traders of the city would support the strike call and would observe complete shutdown.
