PTI asks Board to release players for its league

LAHORE: The sports wing of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has requested the Pakistan Cricket Board to release national players from the camp for its cricket league.

In a letter addressed to PCB chairman Najam Sethi after Dawn published a story about the league's possible clash of schedule with the national training camp, the PTI asked for consideration from the board.

The PCB’s decision of holding a training camp from May 6 might hit the plan of Imran Khan’s league as various cricketers like Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi and many others would not be available for the league due to the camp.

The PTI said the league was to be held from May 3 to 18 but it would now be held from May 18 to June 8.

To organise the league successfully, the wing said, it would need Karachi’s National Stadium, Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Rawalpindi Stadium and Peshawar’s Arbab Niaz Stadium besides renowned cricketers.

The wing has also renamed the competition as Love 20 League.

This is the only thing Imran Khan know, let him play in the streets.... still he is not mature! in the beginning I was thinking IK can change the corrupt culture but during and after election my opinion got changed as he brought all corrupt people in PTI and ultimately worker like I quit this so called inqulabi party. Imran khan has badly exposed for his vested interest and for playing in the hands of establishment. he is becoming a puppet for agencies who will use him and then throw like tissue papers.... people especially youth should wakeup. this is not what we have dreamt!

Again, an individual, who contributed nothing for the development of Cricket in Pakistan (after his retirement) is requesting to release cricketers for the "League of his own". Again a reminder of his words which echoed during his winning speech at the MCG, where he did not say a word of thank to the cricketers for their effort but want to capitalized for his own hospital.....Imran Khan is not worth it..
