FAISALABAD: A man was killed and two others injured in a boiler explosion at a factory on Samundri Road on Monday night.

The roof of the building caved in after the blast.

Rescue 1122 said a boiler at Noor Dying in D-Type on Samundri Road exploded because of excessive steam as a result of which three workers identified as Mustafa, Shakeel, 28, and Ashfaq, 25, sustained burn injuries.

Mustafa breathed his last a few minutes after the incident while the rest of the injured were shifted to Allied Hospital where Shakeel was pronounced critical.

On Tuesday, residents staged a protest demonstration outside the factory and demanded shifting of the unit outside the area.
