KHUZDAR: A strike was observed and condolence references were held in various cities and towns of Balochistan to mark the first death anniversary of three family members of the provincial chief of PML-N, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri.

Sardar Sanaullah’s son Mir Sikandar, brother Meharullah and nephew Mir Zaid were killed in a bomb attack at Anjira in Khuzdar last year.

The strike call was given by the PML-N.

All markets, shops, trade and business centres, banks and petrol pumps remained closed in Khuzdar. People faced difficulties because of the closure of medical stores and petrol pumps.

Our Correspondent in Dera Murad Jamali adds: Business and trade activities remained suspended in Dera Murad Jamali in response to the strike call. Workers and supporters of PML-N marched on roads and staged a demonstration outside the press club.

PML-N leader Mir Fazal Khan Pindrani said even after a year killers of the three men had not been arrested.

Nasaruddin Bhutto, Lal Bakhsh Lehri, Gul Mohammad Raisani, Nisar Ahmed Marri, Dr Javed Zehri and Khan Jan Bangulzai also spoke.

Amanullah Kasi adds from Quetta: Condolence references were held at different places where leaders paid tribute to the son, brother and nephew of Sardar Sanaullah for sacrificing their lives in the struggle against anti-state elements.

They said the PML-N was struggling to protect the solidarity of the nation and would not allow terrorists to damage national security. The party is making every effort to resolve all national issues, including that of Balochistan.

They said the government was keen to solve the problems of unemployment and energy shortage.
