LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 19: The local leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in Darra Pezu said on Tuesday that people were not satisfied with the performance of government departments.

Addressing a public gathering, PTI leaders including Hakeem Asghar, Shafiullah and Shah Noor alleged that government officials were not paying attention to the problems of local people. They were also reluctant to improve service delivery system, they added.

Speaking on the occasion, PTI MNA Ameerullah Khan said that steps were underway to improve the performance of government institutions and resolve problems of people.

He said that government employees were public servants and they should shun their bad habits they had adopted during the previous regimes. He said that corruption would not be tolerated and corrupt officials would be shown the door.

The MNA called upon PTI activists to keep an eye on government employees and report their wrongdoings to the party leadership and provincial government.

Mr Khan also paid surprise visit to the district headquarters hospital and checked the attendance of staff. He said that he had asked the quarters concerned to fil vacant posts of doctors and paramedics in the hospital.

TEACHERS: Several teachers were found absent from their duty when District Education Officer Nazir Khan paid surprise visits to several government schools here on Tuesday.

Flanked by ADEO Sharifullah Khan, the DEO visited primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools in Abakhel, Goraka Saeedkhel, Landiwah and Serai Naurang areas. He found several teachers and Class-IV employees absent and ordered action them.

The DEO reached Government High School Dallokhel before morning assembly where he found all the staff members present. He advised the students to avoid wasting their precious time in unnecessary activities and focus on their studies.

He also inspected the newly built classroom and said that the department would ensure transparency in utilisation of parent teacher council funds.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Zafar Ali Shah has directed the district education officer to ensure presence of clerical staff and other employees in the office.

He issued the instructions during a meeting with officials of education department at his office the other day. He also directed the DEO to improve cleanliness. The deputy commissioner said that administration would extend full cooperation to the education department to improve environment in schools and resolve problems of teachers. —Correspondent
