ISLAMABAD, Sept 14: The Tarnol police here on Saturday arrested seven people for their alleged involvement in the murder of policemen, police said.

The two policemen were lynched to death by the villagers of Doray on September 11.

The investigators during raid in different parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi arrested the accused, including three persons who were nominated in the case.

According to the police, the alleged killers were narcotics smugglers, who killed the policemen.

After the killing of the two policemen, the police officers were reluctant to give official words, including those who are in public relation offices, and their unofficial words are changing day by day.

Earlier, they claimed that the policemen had gone to the village to raid the narcotics peddler and arrest them on the information of a buyer, Hayat Khan, who was intercepted at picket which led to the recovery of heroin.

Later the officers claimed that the policemen went to the village along with four persons, including Hayat Khan to resolve the issue.

Although the police officers are also denying that the relative of former minister and senior bureaucrat have nothing to do with the incident or drug purchasing and claimed that Hayat Khan was the person who used their names.

But the change in the police suggested that there is something which police wanted to hide. —Staff Reporter
