ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission recommended on Monday elevation of Sindh High Court Chief Justice Mushir Alam to the Supreme Court.

A meeting of the commission presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry also suggested the name of Justice Maqbool Baqar to replace Justice Alam as the chief justice of Sindh High Court.

At present, Justice Baqar is under treatment for injuries he suffered in a terrorist attack in Karachi on June 26.

The commission confirmed the appointment of Abdus Sami Khan, Shujjat Ali Khan, Ayesha A. Malik, Ali Baqar Najfi, Shahid Waheed and Ibadur Rehman Lodhi as additional judges of the Lahore High Court.
