Need for dialogue

Published August 22, 2013

THE recent violence and unease at the LoC between Pakistan and India is needless and both sides must, in effect, take initiatives for confidence-building between them, besides ensuring peace returns there.

We must learn to act together at a time when our interests are interlinked with one another and, therefore, it is of immediate importance that that the two sides reconsider their positions for the better and act with responsibility.

We cannot afford going to war with one another and must engage our minds on consolidating our economies and henceforth bring happiness to our people. We can learn from Europe which is now prospering and flourishing at large with free trade and no travelling and visa restrictions.
