THIS is apropos of the letter, “Lawyers’ hooliganism” (April 27).

The ugly incident revealed by the writer is just shocking and merits attention of the DG Rangers.

The incident happened inside the premises of the superior courts when a group of rowdy lawyers attacked and beat with shoes the officially deputed guards of former president Pervez Musharraf.

The black coats didn’t even bother about the sanctity of the superior courts.

It is also a matter of great anguish that the commanding officer of the two soldiers did nothing to defend the dignity of his troops, nor was any FIR registered against the lawyers.

One feels that lately such incidents have been on the rise and now they have assumed alarming proportions.

If these hooligans aren’t bridled now, they’ll further be emboldened in their heinous activities and, after some time, the situation may get out of control.

The writer has mentioned that the interior minister, defence secretary, the army chief, the defence minister and the supreme commander are all tragically mum over this conduct of the lawyers.

To avoid such incidents in future, it is suggested that from now onward the DG Rangers should make it a point to send two commandos with each group of Rangers in Rangers’ uniform.

The news of their presence alone will act as a deterrent against all future misadventures by the black coats as these two commandos, without using any lethal arms, can take care of at least 50 attackers quite easily.

If any such incident happens again in future, the black coats would be taught a lesson that would be remembered by them for generations to come.
