QUETTA, Feb 28: Hundreds of human rights activists organised a demonstration here on Tuesday in protest against kidnapping of political workers and students and dumping of their bullet-riddled bodies in Balochistan.

Protesters led by Advocate Tahir Hussain of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan gathered in front of the press club after marching through various roads of the city.

Carrying placards and banners inscribed with demands, they chanted slogans against the violation of human rights in the province.

Addressing the rally, Mr Hussain, the HRCP vice-chairman, condemned dumping of bullet-riddled bodies and demanded of the government to stop human rights abuses in the province.

He said the situation was deteriorating with the passage of time and warned that the government would not be able to control it if corrective measures were not taken immediately.

“The situation was creating deep hatred among the people of the province,” he said.

Advocate Tahir suggested that the government should take all people affected by the situation into confidence for finding out a solution to the Balochistan issue.
