RAWALPINDI, Aug 26: An eight-year-old boy was kidnapped from Model Colony in Sadiqabad, police said on Friday.

Abdul Waheed, father of the abducted boy, told the police that Hasham left home to buy a cellphone card from a nearby shop on Wednesday but did not return. An ailing Waheed had been deported from Saudi Arabia.

The parents and relatives started door-to-door search for the missing boy but did not find any clue. On Thursday, a caller informed the father that the boy, a student of class 1 in a private school, was in his custody, though he did not demand ransom for Hasham's release.

Sub-Inspector Mumtaz Hussain, who is leading the probe into the kidnapping, said that kidnappers have not made any more calls to the parents.
