KARACHI, March 6: Barrister Murtaza, son of PPP leader Fauzia Wahab escaped a kidnapping attempt late on Sunday night. Chief of the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee Ahmed Chinoy, quoting Fauzia Wahab, told Dawn that Mr Murtaza had been kidnapped from the service lane of Karsaz Road by armed men.

Apparently, the kidnappers were heading towards the Sohrab Goth area when their vehicle either ran out of fuel or it was blocked by a tracker company near the UBL Sports Complex in Federal B Area, forcing them to flee, Mr Chinoy said.

Mr Murtaza returned home, the CPLC chief said.
